Habit Badger

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 June 2026

Habit Badger is a parent-operated family habit tracker. It was built privacy-first: we show no ads, do no advertising tracking, and never sell your family's data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the Habit Badger mobile app and this website, operated by Big Kid Technologies Pte Ltd ("we", "us"). Accounts are created and run by a parent or guardian (an adult). Children do not create accounts, sign in, or transact — a parent sets up profiles for their children and supervises use.

2. Information we collect

WhatWhy we collect it
Parent account: name and email addressTo create and secure your account (authentication).
Child profiles: first name or nickname, and an optional profile photo you chooseSo the app can show each child their own coins, badges, and rewards.
Activity content: photos, a chosen emotion, and optional short notes attached to a completed activity or a claimed rewardTo record "moments" and reward claims inside your private family account.
Diagnostics: crash reports and technical error dataTo find and fix bugs and keep the app stable (Google Crashlytics).
Usage analytics: anonymous, aggregated app-usage signals such as screen views and feature useTo understand how the app is used and improve it (Google Analytics for Firebase). This data is not tied to advertising identifiers and is not used to build a profile of any child.

We do not collect children's birthdates, ages, precise location, contacts, or any advertising identifier (IDFA/AAID).

3. Children's privacy (COPPA & similar laws)

Habit Badger is designed to be set up and operated by a parent or guardian. Any personal information relating to a child is provided by, and collected at the direction of, that parent — who consents to its collection and use solely to provide the family features described above. We use children's information only to operate the app for your family and for the internal operations needed to run, secure, and improve the service. We do not require a child to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary, and we do not use it for behavioral advertising or to build cross-app profiles.

Parents are in control. You can review your children's information, edit or remove a child profile, and permanently delete your entire account and all associated data at any time from inside the app (Profile → Account → Delete Account). See our Account & Data Deletion page.

4. How we use information

In the app, we do not use your information for advertising, we do not show third-party ads, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

On our public marketing website — the parenting guide pages adults browse before downloading — we use cookie-based analytics and advertising-measurement tools (see section 5) to understand which guides help parents and to measure how well our own ads perform. This applies to adult website visitors only; it is never connected to a child, to any child's data, or to the app.

5. Service providers

We use Google Firebase to run the app: Firebase Authentication (sign-in), Cloud Firestore (data), Firebase Storage (photos), Google Analytics for Firebase (anonymous usage), and Firebase Crashlytics (crash diagnostics). Google processes this data on our behalf as a service provider. See Firebase's privacy and security information.

For our public marketing website (including the parenting guide pages), we use Cloudflare Web Analytics and PostHog for privacy-first, cookieless traffic and engagement measurement, and — on the guide pages — Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion measurement, which use cookies, to measure and improve our marketing to parents. These website tools apply to adult visitors and are kept separate from the app; they are not linked to any child's account or data.

6. Storage, security, and retention

Data is encrypted in transit and stored on Google Cloud infrastructure. Photos and profile data live in your private family account and are not shared with other families or made public. We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profiles, photos, and associated records; residual copies in backups are purged within 30 days.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. We honor those rights — contact us to exercise them.

8. International users

We operate from Singapore. If you use the app from another country, your information may be processed on servers located outside your country, with appropriate safeguards.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
